The Genocide Games: Arm Sales 7 International Security

Absurdity -> There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man’s fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of  endless strife and change as can be seen by a global entertainment enterprise known as the Genocide Game!

I knew the deck of cards was tampered with when I realized that the 5 permanent member nation of the United Nations Security Council each in recent history have been responsible in many cases of Genocide, or inhuman treatment of either their own people or some other people. France and England  after years of assaulting each other took both their battle and vitriol to an international stage and out of the anguish that was colonialization America the was born. I don’t think I need to mention much about Mother Russia, the Bolshevik Revolutions, 1908 revolution, Stalin and the Cold War.  When I think of China I think of their efforts to help civilize the Tibetans, and their selling death-causing toothpaste.

The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) is one of the six principal organs of the United Nations and is charged with the maintenance of international peace and security. Its powers, outlined in the United Nations Charter, include the establishment of peacekeeping operations, the establishment of international sanctions, and the authorization of military action. Its powers are exercised through United Nations Security Council resolutions. There are 15 members of the Security Council.

This includes five veto-wielding permanent members—China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States—based on the great powers that were the victors of World War II.

The Genocide Games Continues

I stopped believing long ago that empathy and altruism exists in the international arena when I read Nkrumah’s Neocolonialism and also the 2002—Srebrenica: a ‘safe’ area  report that document implicating the Netherlands or the Dutch forces as being partially responsible for the Srebenica Massacre.  Do you find it odd that the 5 permanent nations with Veto power and who can establish peacekeeping operations, international sanctions, and authorize military action are the biggest arms dealers on the planet.

So these means if the security council decides to ignore a nations sovereignty no one can resist them. Any of these countries can decide to force policies that will exacerbate regional or sectarian violence. They can sell weapons to faction that will support their polarizing discourse and policy, and with enough votes bring in troop to enforce the law. Innocents die and there is a lot of collateral damage but another narrative is sold and a favourable series of economic manoeuvres are secured not for a nation but for those who profit the most from war, corporate interest and the industry that has been built up to cater to their interests.

maybe I can Provide you an Example

Rather maybe As I am not a historian I can share what I believe from my own understanding of geopolitics to be an example. This was taken from the follow document:

African Union Statement on the NATO Invasion of Libya
It’s Time to End the Bombing and Find a Political Solution in Libya

There are differences on the issue of Libya as to whether there was proof of genocide or intended genocide. Fighting between Government troops and armed insurrectionists is not genocide. It is civil war.

It is the attack on unarmed civilians with the aim of exterminating a particular group that is genocide – to exterminate the genes of targeted groups such as the Jews, Tutsis, etc. It is wrong to characterise every violence as genocide or imminent genocide so as to use it as a pretext for the undermining of the sovereignty of States.

Careless assaults on the sovereignty of African Countries are, therefore, tantamount to inflicting fresh wounds on the destiny of the African peoples. If foreign invasions, meddlings, interventions, etc, were a source of prosperity, then, Africa should be the richest continent in the world because we have had all versions of all that: slave trade, colonialism and neo- colonialism. Yet, Africa has been the most wretched on account of that foreign meddling.

Since Gaddafi was disposed let me paint you a picture of life in Libya

  1. “Torture and ill-treatment in Libya is an on-going and widespread concern in many detention centers,” said the report from the U.N.’s top human rights office (UNHCHR) and the world body’s Support Mission (UNSMIL) in the country. Many arrests were arbitrary, motivated by personal or tribal score-settling, the report said. The paper detailed cases of men, some hauled off the street on the way to work or in their homes without explanation by militiamen, and how they were beaten and raped with bottles or large bullets and left without food in filthy jails. (taken from Reuters)
  2. Two years after NATO ended its air campaign, resulting in Qaddafi’s defeat, the United States, United Kingdom, France, Italy, Germany, and the European Union have done little to follow through with an effective Libya restructural policy. They have struggled to coordinate support to address the problems with Libya’s security sector and justice system. taken from Lawlessness in Libya

Many questions exists about Libya Are they better off now ? Was this the best solution? Who knows

It’s hard to not think that genocide and war on some level of Geopolitics is a game, where only the most hardened of criminals are at the table deciding how to divvy up the spoils. I could also be very wrong and it can just be the cynicism speaking.
