I used to and still believe that the best thing that came out of persecution especially from England, where the movement began. was America. England is America’s senile mother that condones and supports anything America does because it allows her primarily to pad her legacy and secondly live vicariously through our global neo-colonial activities. From the bowdlerized versions of history we were fed in school I was able to glean that many people left England and also the Europe to escape syphilis and the once thought to be unrelated epidemic of ablutophobia that had Europe in its grips from the end of the to modern day,… oh and and religious intolerance. Many groups of colonists came to searching for the right to practice their religion without
Who can forget the Puritans, they gave America its work ethic and unnatural fixation on sex and all forms of Merrymaking. Some have even speculated that Puritanism provided the foundation for American Democracy given their democratic practices. You can imagine my consternation when I heard that:
- Queen Elizabeth the II gave royal assent to a bill that will give gays, lesbians, bi and trans people the right to marry in England and Wales.
- Abortion will be allowed in the for the first time following a parliamentary vote to legalize the termination of pregnancies in cases where there is a real and substantial risk to the life of the mother, including the threat of suicide.
especially given that Governor Perry Texas signed into law on Thursday a package of abortion restrictions that is expected to drastically reduce access to abortion across the state. The law bans abortions 20 weeks after fertilization, four weeks earlier than the standard set by. It may also lead to the closure of all but five abortion clinics in the state, since it requires all clinics to become ambulatory surgical centers, even if they do not provide surgical abortions. The bill mandates that abortion providers have admitting privileges at a hospital within 30 miles of the facility and requires them to administer the abortion-inducing medication RU-486 in person, rather than allow women to take it at home.
It seems thatis not as free as we thought and their aren’t enough of the brave left to talk about or address the political landscape of current times. Perhaps that has always been the case. What the Queen was quoted as saying on twitter maybe true
“Times have changed. Now if you want religious freedom, choice and equality, you have to leave Texas and come back here”
The legacy of the The UK is belligerence, strife an infighting. I mean the name the “United Kingdom” is a farce, just as the land of the free and the home of the brave is a farce inhistorically speaking. There is much , history of exploitation of Africans and Asians. Many Americans would feel home here, but the Queen I fear is quite short-sighted which isn’t her fault, I imagine the royal gene pool isn’t what it used to be. The passage of time, inbreeding has in effect poured battery acid into the mix. I wouldn’t be surprised if Kate Middleton’s baby is so deformed and hideous that is has to be kept in an underground maze and fed innocent children from the former colonies.
Americans are very particular about their teeth and I fear that that same incessant empty-headed concern will not be reciprocated in the UK. English isn’t spoken in the UK> Americans who are most likely to move, I mean the ones who can afford to move for the sake of ideologically dissonance , will not do well as minorities in another country, the same sense of entitlement wouldn’t transfer over: there would be no Mexicans to hire to take care of the lawn, not as many Caribbean nannies to take care of their children while they go out and pursue a career. I have seen too many Animal Planet shows; I know what happens when animals/human being are put out of their comfort zone.
Meanwhile we will just have to deal with it here in the states, luckily a new fall line-up of television programming is being prepared to help with that.
