You know you’re superchic when chic France is following in your footsteps. Just one day after same-sex marriage laws passed in Maine and Maryland, the French Cabinet approved a measure making gay marriage A-OK there — it’s still up for debate in the French legislature, but boy, do we feel like trendsetters. President Francois Hollande took a page from Obama’s book, advocating the issue a la mode, and in a familiar cry, conservatives hailed the move as the end of civilization as we know it. One French senator called it “an enormous danger to the nation” and the “end of the family.” Hmm, that rings a bell, too. [Source]

This article is a big ole nutty brown pile of bullshit ! Let’s look at the title: CopyCat France Approves Gay Marriage Measure. The Most important word there is CopyCat meaning that whatever is about to be reported hasn’t been done in sincerity or in earnest. it has just been done as means to bask in some non-deserving. Can I summaries this article for you:
Americans are cool because France is following something we did. We’re First and number one for it. We just wanted to tell you that and not really talk about important issues for equal rights for all people regardless of difference.
In you want to return back to the normal shit we are forced fed through the news you have to go back to the original article which says:
The French leader’s top ministers approved the bill legalizing marriage and adoption for same-sex couples, sending it to the legislature for debate, only one day after two American states, Maine and Maryland, became the first in the U.S. to approve same-sex marriage in a popular vote.
Gay marriage has become a contentious issue in France, where Hollande made it a liberal cornerstone of his campaign, hoping it would create a clean break from his conservative predecessor. At the time, it appeared to have the backing of a majority of the population, but it has since turned into a politically sensitive issue.
Seriously now
I really like that line where it says that gay marriage has the backing of the majority of the French people but has become a politically sensitive issue. That lines sheds like on the fact that the reality of what the majority of the populace thinks can sometimes have nothing to do with the reality that politicians concern themselves with. That’s really funny to me because it brings up the question of representation in government. It makes me wonder is it possible for the politicians to create issues for their own clandestine ends and hijack whatever representational system of government we find there
But anyways so what? We know what matters most

This picture still gives me a reason to think about baseball and Janet Reno again
