I’ve always had no regard for conventions since I was a little kid. I just didn’t really give a shit, I tried to but much like Donovan Bailey was a horrible failure. I’d rather be alone than be someone else’s image of what I should be. Of course, as you can imagine, I was alone for a while lol. Anyways, my attitude made dating back in the day before facebook and twitter really interesting given that I seemed to attract the most criminally insane of women.
I was talking to a female friend of mind [btw I never dogged her out & sent her home to her vapid existence of a life and decided to become friends as a shield from the quotidian ennui]. And the question came up
In terms of Gender, i.e Between those with out-ies (males) and those with innies(female):
Who is more forgiving of personal idiosyncrasies. Or another way to say it, who will stick around longer to get to really know a mutha-fucka?
After some back and forth banter I closed down the shop with my final answer and left her reeling and to quote from Hamlet “Blasted with ecstasy” as if I did dogged her out, pass her napkins & then sent her home to her vapid existence of a life. I’m trying to get to know a mutha fucka. At least one, but maybe even a few. The problem is, no mutha fuckas are trying to get to know me. It’s the worst!
I don’t know if there is a straight answer to this. I watch my sister date and she’s dropped dudes who were good on paper (eg. Pilot, makes good money, wants to get married and own a cottage and a home in the city, does the dishes after dinner) because the dude was mean to waitresses and sometimes was a dick to his friends. That may seem odd but it irked her and those are her reasons. I’m her identical twin sister and I don’t know if I would’ve got rid of him for the same reasons (but who is to say I would’ve dated him in the first place). Who is more forgiving of idiosyncrasies? Forgiving and patient people, regardless of gender. I guess my point is that if identical twins have different tolerance levels for idiosyncrasies, there’s very little hope of figuring it between the genders.
That’s an awesome answer very similar to what I personally believe and roll with. its a bit of a charged or rather polarizing question I feel. Thanks for your comment :- )
Interesting question, but I think the answer is totally conditional to the personality of the individual as well as to their current situation. For example, in my current state as a single hopeless romantic, approaching a person I am attracted to is different from approaching other strangers. Like a dogged man, I too feel excitement when I meet a new guy because the prospects of a new relationship, or even a one night stand, gives me butterflies! Sounds a bit crazy, but when you’ve been single for 2 years like moi (OH MY GOSH IT HAS BEEN SO LONG), I think I’d spend just a tad more time getting to know the idiosyncrasies of a male mutha-fucka, and an attractive one at that, than a female. Because who knows? It might just bloom into some kind of Cherry tree like at your old workplace.
To sum that all up, I think regardless of gender, one will take more time getting to know someone they are attracted to. But that’s the answer I have for you now as a single gal in her 20-somethings itchin’ for some lovin’. That response will probably change once I get some lovin’.
